Disengagement of Autonomous DiDi Test Vehicle Observed

Every punctual beginning of February, there are disengagement reports from the autonomous test vehicles that have a license in California. A disengagement is the moment when a safety driver in such a vehicle takes control when he thinks the vehicle is about to make a mistake, or the computer hands over control when he is stuck.

Much is written about it, but rarely is such disengagement actually observed, and even more rarely recorded by anyone. But today I managed to capture one of these situations.

You can see here in the video how the vehicle jerks at minute 0:21 because the distance between the front vehicle and the left lane is too small and the safety driver takes control.
