More Details About Zoox New Robotaxi

Zoox has shared more details about its new robotaxi, which are not uninteresting. First of all, the vehicle’s top speed is 120 km/h (75 miles per hour), so it can also drive on highways. However, it is planned primarily for city traffic. No capacity or range is given for the battery, but it should be able to drive 16 hours a day without recharging.

The vehicle is currently the first version to hit the streets sooner than many think, with the first deployment in Las Vegas. Rumors say it will leave closed test tracks for the first time in the next few months, if not weeks, and then drive in Las Vegas. Other test areas include the San Francisco Bay Area and Seattle.

The vehicle is not yet optimized for disabled access, but Zoox is working with disability advocates. Safety-wise, the vehicle has four seat belts as well as plenty of airbags. For example, airbags come out of the center of the roof and the sides in the event of a collision. Airbags are also activated between the headrests and the rear or front windows to protect against objects getting inside the car through the window.

Here is another video of the touch screen for the passengers.
