Tesla Delivers 310,048 Cars in Q1 of 2022

Despite COVID-related temporary closures of the Gigafactory in Shanghai, despite the supply chain problems plaguing the entire automotive industry, Tesla has managed to steadily increase its delivery and production numbers.

In the first quarter of 2022, 310,048 vehicles were delivered and 305,407 were produced. This included 14,218 Model S and Model X, and 291,189 Model 3 and Model Y.

Tesla thus increased deliveries by 68 percent compared to the first quarter of the previous year. Tesla has managed an average increase of 62 percent per year since 2013. This means Tesla has delivered 2,644,770 electric cars to customers in its history.

Sustained growth like this would bring Tesla to 1.6 to 1.9 million vehicles by the end of the year. At the end of the quarter, Tesla had just 15,300 cars in inventory, or about 3 percent daily inventory.
