VW Delivers 99,100 EVs And Is Sold Out For 2022

Following the report that the Volkswagen Group delivered 99,100 electric vehicles in the first quarter of 2022, a 65 percent increase from 60,000 units in Q1 2021, Volkswagen announced that orders for 2022 are sold out. For example, the company claims to have 300,000 orders in Europe alone, with each additional order not delivered to customers until 2023.

Even though Volkswagen, like all other manufacturers, is groaning under the current supplier problems, the company is confident that it will reach its target of 700,000 electric cars this year. The cable harnesses from Ukraine, the COVID lockdown in China and the still persistent chip shortage are all causing VW problems.
