German Startup Presents Platform for Delivery Robots

Delivery.me, a startup based in Gerlingen near Stuttgart, unveiled its OnePlatform for delivery robots. The Bangalore, India-based team, which is based in Germany, began developing miniaturized research vehicles for autonomous driving in 2019, using off-the-shelf components and software, making them accessible to everyone. Among others, ROS/ROS2, the associated open source stack Autoware.AI are used, as well as NVIDIA hardware (Jetson NX).

The focus on delivery robots came from the pandemic-related move to online shopping. While in the USA Nuro, Udelv, Kiwi, Starship Technologies and other delivery robots from a wide range of manufacturers are already quite widely in use, there is still little to be seen of them in Europe. Delivery.me therefore offers a solution with the OnePlatform, which provides a delivery robot platform in the logistics and production area that is suitable for enabling different setups for different purposes.
