Global Growth Rates for Electric Cars
The delivery figures for battery electric cars from all manufacturers for 2023 are gradually trickling in, and they indicate strong growth. Manufacturers worldwide are seeing high growth rates, even traditional OEMs can ignore the popularity of BEVs. Mercedes-Benz saw deliveries increase by 89 percent year-on-year, BMW is also starting to warm up to electric cars with 74.4 percent growth, mainly because such growth rates are nowhere near being achieved with combustion vehicles.

The comparison of growth rates from 2021 to 2022 is unclear, with some brands seeing a slowdown and others an increase in delivery rates. The fact is that, despite all the prophets of doom, demand for all-electric cars continues unabated, despite the discontinuation of subsidies and tax rebates in some countries. And there is no end in sight, as several manufacturers such as Tesla and BYD want to enter the mass market this year or next year with an electric car costing around 25,000 dollars.
