Meituan Delivery Robot Hits Bus

A Meituan delivery robot collided with a public bus in Beijing. As reported by the Laitimes, the vehicle operated by Chinese online retailer Meituan hit a bus in Beijing’s Shunyi district. It was not clear exactly how the collision occurred, and why the delivery robot, which was equipped with 19 cameras, 2 radars and 9 ultrasonic sensors, did not see the bus.

The delivery robot called Magic Bag 20 has no driver, and its dimensions of 2.45m long, 1.01m wide and 1.9m high are roughly equivalent to those of a refrigerator.

Incidentally, this is not the first incident involving a Meituan delivery robot. In October 2021, one of the delivery robots collided with a car that it had failed to yield to. However, there was no personal injury in any of the cases.
