New Sensor Rack Spotted on Waymo
In Buffalo in the US state of New York, the engineering team spotted a Waymo with a new sensor rack on the roof. This looks a lot more massive than those used in the 5th generation of the Waymo Driver, as used in San Francisco or Phoenix, among others (see the third image in the following picture gallery).
Some observers have speculated that this could indicate intensive testing of sensors that can cope well with snowfall, cold temperatures, or generally inhospitable weather conditions.
