Tesla Berlin To Receive Operating Permit This Week, Tesla Austin Mid March

As the German daily Tagesspiegel exclusively reported today, the operating permit for the new Tesla Gigafactory in Berlin-Grünheide is expected to be granted this Thursday or Friday. Last week, Brandenburg’s Minister President Dietmar Woidke held a conference call as part of the “Tesla Task Force”, during which the environmental impact assessment was completed, clearing the way for the operating permit to be issued.

A big inauguration ceremony is also scheduled to take place in about three weeks, at which Tesla CEO Elon Musk is expected to attend and the first vehicles produced in the new Gigafactory will be handed over to customers.
