Tesla Model X Spotted with LiDAR rack
This Tesla Model X with a LiDAR rack was spotted on El Camino Real in Palo Alto on February 22nd, 2022. Interestingly, reports of such sightings are piling up, of various Tesla models with a manufacturer’s plate and LiDAR setups. For example, this Model S was spotted in San Francisco on Saturday and this Model 3 was also spotted in Palo Alto on Tuesday.
The accumulation of sightings in a few days and with three different models at the same time could indicate that Tesla is changing something about a sensor (read: camera) modality. Could it be a new camera system? Or yet other sensor modalities like radar or maybe even LiDAR? I would rather guess new cameras. Suggestions?
