Video of Tesla Pile Up Crash SF Bay Bridge

A video of a rear-end collision on the Bay Bridge from San Francisco to Oakland that involved eight vehicles has been released by authorities. In the accident, the Tesla Model S (2021), which according to the driver, a 76-year-old attorney, had been traveling in so-called Full Self Driving mode (FSD Beta), suddenly applied the brakes and changed lanes. As a result of this maneuver, several other vehicles were unable to stop in time and rear-ended each other.

FSD Beta is software installed on 280,000 Tesla vehicles in North America that aims to enable Level 4 autonomous driving. Since it is currently only a test version, the driver’s full attention is required at all times when using the FSD Beta.
