WeRide Tests Shuttle Under Extreme Weather
Chinese self-driving technology startup WeRide shows in a video how a new type of vehicle – a shuttle – is tested under extreme weather conditions. The vehicle is seen driving on a snowy and icy road in temperatures ranging from -25 degrees Celsius in Heihe, China, to +45 degrees Celsius in Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates.
The sensors and associated algorithms filter out reflections from snowflakes and the icy road surface to take these conditions into account when controlling steering and speed.
