Sony Presents An SUV As Their Second Electric Vehicle Concept

When Sony unveiled the Sony Vision S01 at CES 2022, an electric car concept that was really just meant to more beautifully showcase the many Sony technologies already built into automobiles today, the company was surprised by the enthusiastic response. The car was so well liked that questions kept coming about whether Sony would enter the car manufacturing business. At the time, the company was coy, visibly taken with the feedback, but with no answer to the question. Subsequently, however, one of the prototypes was spotted in Austria.

Two years later, the answer is clear. Not only did Sony introduce a second vehicle, the Sony Vision S02, an SUV, but the Japanese also announced that they had founded a company called Sony Mobility to produce electric cars.

Just like at CES 2020, the Sony Vision S01 was also there. Here are a few pictures, including specifications. Wheelbase 3.03 meters, length 4.895 meters, width 1.9 meters, height 1.45 meters, weight 2,350 kilograms, top speed 238 km/h, acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.8 seconds, 200 kW drive, four-wheel drive and room for 4 passengers.
